On August 25, right-wing anti-trans election denier Sherrona Bishop interviewed Garfield County parents Heather and Brent Fitzke about a recent court decision which gave temporary emergency guardianship rights of their transgender son to two local LGBTQ+ activists, on her podcast.

The child is seventeen years old, and hasn’t lived at home for almost a year, and simply wanted to be able to enroll in school for their senior year and access healthcare. The child will turn eighteen in just a few short months.
In Bishop’s podcast she slanders judge Elise V. Myer, calling her a “radical” “lesbian activist.”
Bishop targets the community activists that have stepped up to provide this transgender teen with the stability they need to be able to finish high school.
Since then Bishop’s followers have engaged in doxxing the adoptive parents, the judge, and the funders of Parents and Friends of Lesbian and Gays and Cook Inclusive, two LGBTQ+ organization in the Roaring Fork Valley.

Bishop also dead names the child multiple times in the course of the podcast.
Bishop was Lauren Boebert’s campaign manager, she was a vocal supporter of Tina Peters, and is close to election denier Mike Lindell, the My Pillow Guy.
On September 5, Brent Fitzke got into a verbal confrontation in the District Attorney’s office with assistant DA Tony Hershey. Fitzke then filed a police report about the incident that seems to show that the Fitzke’s are getting tired of the Bishops’ meddling in their case.
“To be clear, Mrs. Bishop does not represent us in any way, formally or informally…[it] should not be understood as authorizing Mrs. Bishop to speak or act on our behalf regarding this case.” wrote Brent Fitzke in a police report.
But Bishop, is not unfamiliar with changing a child’s name. The Rev has obtained 2018 court documents from when the Bishop petitioned the court to change their 14-year-old son’s name because “the child would like to have a more socially “normal” name, and most people already refer to him as… the new proposed name.”

The Fitzke’s have set up a GiveSendGo fundraiser to “Help me stop the Trans movement indoctrinating our children in your school, your libraries & throughout our communities.” Fitzke additionally seeks to form a non-profit organization “Psalms 94.” Fitke seeks to raise $150,000 and so far has only received $2375.
This young person just wants to go to school, work a job and have a bank account that their mom can’t take their money out of, and get basic medical care. They want to live in a house that respects who they are and how they identify. The couple that has stepped up to help this young person, have received threats, have been doxxed, called “Groomers” and “the Trans Mafia,” by Bishop.
Another hearing for this case is being held today.
