Indivisible is an astroturf front for the Democratic Party, doing its part on ‘the left’ of the political spectrum to bind us to false binaries of the U$ ruling class like its liberal and conservative wings. It’s worth recalling here history of both left and right being derived from which side of the king sycophants served the royal court’s goal of controlling the restless many for the privileged few.
From the top of party machinery of Demopublicans and Republicrats down to philanthro-capitalist nonprofits and NGOs, divide-and-rule oppositions are created for controlled choices leading to the same ends of population management by those who own the country, including its governing institutions. Those who own the country ought to govern it, as ‘founding father’ John Jay said on behalf of the plutocrats who pulled off the coup of the U$ Constitution. They may disagree over strategy to serve different interests, whether by the carrot or the stick, but they share common interest in constant class war upon human resources exploited by “the masters of mankind” for their “vile maxim” (Adam Smith) of all for the few, nothing for the many.
If voting changed anything, it would be illegal, as Emma Goldman and others have observed of the rigged racket or representative democracy, the best money can buy. Or as Lucy Parsons put it: “Never be deceived that the rich will allow you to vote away their wealth.” Voting is among those ritual motions mistaken for action by which we the people consent to be ruled by Big Bizzness in continually rebranded plans of politics for capitalist development, at our expense.
Interminable good-cop/bad-cop routines of partisan theater are staged to keep audiences captive to controversy distracting them from the puppeteers pulling the strings of politicians. It’s in the shadows of national security and the military industrial complex where power lies, particularly since post-WW2 Pax/Pox Americana’s creeping fascism of the corporate state, and the 9/11 coup and war on (of) terror institutionalized an “inverted totalitarianism” (Sheldon Wolin) where rule of law is no more than the law of rule.
The Trump regime is the latest in a long line of executives of the ruling class from left to right consistently committed to expanding the imperial reach of capital over all life on earth as nothing more than resources for its machinery of production, profit, and power. When tomorrow a new brand of bought and sold billionaire politics upstages MAGAlomania, it will still be capitalist class war (military, economic, ideological) ‘over there’ and here in the Homeland, sustained by an hierarchical social system rooted in class rule, that’s our real enemy.
Last May 1st, Indivisible hijacked May Day to draw people into the party where working class movements go to die ever since Democrats and business unionism brokered the New Deal under FDR. We need revolutionary politics rooted in freedom among equals, not more of the same old compromises with capitalism, as it is the crisis that has become hell on earth for all humanity.
