GRAND JUNCTION

Community members will gather on Saturday, March 28 for a family-friendly “No Kings” march along Riverside Parkway, culminating at the 11th Annual Si Se Puede Celebration & Car Show at the Riverside Parkway Amphitheater.

Participants will meet at The Butterfly Pond at 11 a.m. before marching down Riverside Parkway to the amphitheater. The march is part of the broader “No Kings” movement, which calls for defending democratic values, protecting communities, and rejecting authoritarian leadership. Organizers say the event reflects a growing belief that when families and communities are under pressure from rising costs, harmful policies, and illegal wars waged in our name, silence is not an option.

Organizers emphasize that the No Kings march will be a peaceful, family-friendly demonstration grounded in nonviolent action and community solidarity.

Upon arriving at the amphitheater, participants will join and support the César Chávez Celebration, a long-running community event honoring the legacy of labor leader and civil rights advocate César Chávez and celebrating the region’s Latino community.

The celebration will feature food, music, local vendors, and community activities, including the César Chávez Car Show.

GLENWOOD SPRINGS

On March 28, residents from Parachute to Aspen will come together with millions of Americans across the country in a nationwide day of protest at the third No Kings National Day of Nonviolent Action. Over 3,000 events are being planned nationwide and this number is growing daily.

NO KINGS, NO CRUELTY

March 28, Glenwood Springs

1:00 March on Grand Ave.

2:00 Gather in Sayre Park

“From Epstein to ICE to Iran, the Trump regime is committing crimes against humanity over and over again. They’re killing people for power and profit. It’s a betrayal of what Americans want and need,” said Duncan Barber, Carbondale volunteer.  “The No Kings National Day of Action is about bringing together people from all walks of life to say, ‘Enough! We reject authoritarianism, we reject the cruelty of ICE, and we reject this regime’s reckless war on Iran.’”

No Kings is a massive and growing nonviolent movement that has already mobilized millions — from over five million participants on June 14, 2025 to over 7 million people joining 3,000+ events across all 50 states on October 18, 2025. On March 28 we’ll be coming together to make history as we’re on track for making this No Kings Day of Action the largest ever day of non-violent protest in our country. Also, there are already No Kings events planned in over 20 countries around the world!

“Organizing our local event is a huge endeavor,” said George Wear, Events Team Coordinator and Steering Committee member for Mountain Action Indivisible.  “It takes over a hundred community members stepping up to volunteer, doing everything from serving as Crossing Guards and Peacekeepers to contributing their talents as singers, dancers, drummers, and photographers.”

The Glenwood Springs event will be structured differently than previous No Kings rallies. The march along Grand Ave. will take place first, from about 1:00 – 2:00, and participants can join the march at any point along the route, as long as they follow the direction of the marchers. (Details here.) Participants will encounter local creative talent throughout the march. People are welcome to stay in Sayre Park from 1:00 – 2:00 if they prefer not to march.

The program in Sayre Park will begin about 2:15,  including Mugsy Fay as our MC, Alex Sanchez of Voces Unidas and Zoe Rom as speakers, our local chapter of Singing Resistance leading everyone in songs, a Know Your Rights skit, and other creative acts. In the park we’ll have a free screen printing pop-up, Dizzy Lizzy and Ambassador Finn will be providing kids’ activities, and volunteers will be staffing “What’s Next” info booths so everyone can leave with a clear idea of how they can stay engaged.

“I’ve been struck by how celebratory and energizing the No Kings rallies feel,” said Denise Latousek, Basalt volunteer.  “Authoritarians want people to feel alone and helpless. Getting together at events like No Kings is a great reminder of the power we hold when we refuse to believe that we are powerless.”

“Connecting with our friends and neighbors at joyful, peaceful events like this is so important for keeping us motivated for the fight ahead, bringing new people into the resistance movement, and turning our outrage into action,” said Debbie Bruell, Co-founder Mountain Action Indivisible.

“Almost all Americans want to live in a democracy – a government of the people, by the people, for the people – where we have the freedom to express ourselves without fear of retribution,” said Lori Brandon, Co-founder Mountain Action Indivisible.  “With all of the fear, intimidation and silencing of dissent we have seen this past year, we must speak out and use our first amendment right in order to protect it. Two hundred and fifty years ago, Americans fought off a king who could prosecute anyone who dared to criticize his regime. It’s time for us to say again, ‘NO KINGS!'”

Montrose

On Saturday, March 28, 2026, local Montrose, Ridgway, Ouray and Telluride residents will come together with millions of Americans across the country in a nationwide day of nonviolent protest at the third No Kings National Day of Non-Violent Action. There are over 2,000 plus events nationwide.

The third No Kings in Montrose will be on Saturday March 28, 2026 at 320 S. 1st Street, Montrose, Colorado at 1 pm.

The upcoming event will stand out from previous ones because the organizers have taken into account the feedback from past attendees. On the agenda will be a shorter rally, an “inflatables dance party” and a march protest on Townsend Avenue. Organizers hope to bring together local organizations that serve populations that the Trump administration has targeted in their budget cuts such as: parents and children facing cuts to services, immigrant rights, voting rights activists and other civically and neighborly minded groups in a volunteer information fair at the event.

For anyone who thinks President Trump and his enablers have gone too far, this movement is for you. This administration’s actions are bigger than political disagreements as they have stomped on the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and defiled the norms of the United States government by: declaring war on Iran without the consent of the people , defied the courts, deported American citizens, disappeared human beings off the streets, slashed services to American citizens with our tax dollars – all the while orchestrating a massive tax giveaway to their billionaire allies. Enough is enough – haven’t they’ve gone too far?! Our community is intentionally collaborating to push back against President Trump’s violent, authoritarian actions. We’re bringing together local residents from all walks of life who share a simple message: We don’t do dictators or kings in America.

No Kings is a mass, nonviolent movement that has already mobilized millions — from over five million participants on June 14, 2025 to over 7 million people joining 2,700+ events across all 50 states and the District of Columbia on October 18, 2025 — and is growing as communities unite to reject authoritarian power grabs and defend dignity and freedom.

TELLURIDE

Durango

Gather at Buckley Park 1:30-2pm, Speakers at 2pm; then we march southbound towards the train station to disperse at 5th st. Those who want to continue the energy and wave signs, turn right on College, use the sidewalks to populate the four corners at College and Camino del Rio.

**We have the power and are claiming it together. No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.**

What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever.

When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence.

On March 28th, rise up, take to the streets, and say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings. We’re not watching history happen—we’re making it. Join us.

*A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
