GRAND JUNCTION By Sasha Gardner On Tuesday, June 10th, members of the wider Grand Junction community stood in solidarity with protesters in Los Angeles. In the aftermath of the Trump-Musk breakup, large ICE raids were carried out throughout the Los Angeles area, prompting largely peaceful protest in support of victims. The militarized Los Angeles Police … Continue reading Westslope Says No ICE, Solidarity with L.A 6/10 Reportback

Haitz’ Hate: On CHSSA, Curriculum, and Local Control
Haitz says she stands for local control, while taking marching orders from a shadowy cabal of far-right front-range education activists led by Brad Miller, and pushing D51 to adhere to federal edicts, the very opposite of local control. She is mirroring Trump’s playbook of destroying the Department of Education under the guise of returning education to the states while at the same time trying to dictate how schools should operate and what they should and should not teach. Haitz and the cabal of the far-right school board members Colorado are a threat to education and marginalized students across the state. They will continue to use their position and networks to undermine Colorado’s laws and protections for students while eroding our educational standards.
Radical History of May Day
In the end, they succeeded, and now instead of International Workers Day, or May Day, Americans celebrate Labor Day. Instead of parades with banners and red flags, we have cookouts and barbecues. The rich and powerful killed five of the Haymarket Eight, and then for good measure they buried their memory. It’s up to us to rediscover the radicals of the past who gave up their lives to try and create a better world. It’s up to us to carry the torch of Liberty, Equality and Solidarity forward into a brighter and better future.
The Isolation of Suburbia and Car Dependency
Both the physical geography and transportation of the suburbs literally separates us from our neighbors. The large houses and fences create boundaries between family units, and cars insulate us from anyone outside the moment we leave. This recreates a very individualistic culture. More public forms of travel like transit, biking, or even walking are often not even considered options, so drivers are often flagrantly unconcerned with their surroundings. This disregard for safety leads to dangerous driving and speeding. More broadly, these divisions normalize a neglect for your fellow humans and the environment.
Resist Fascism, Fight for Socialism
"The United States is in turmoil. With the election of Donald Trump, the forces of fascism and tyranny are rearing their ugly heads. Trump and his goons are set on dismantling the few genuinely democratic institutions that we still have in this country. At such critical turning points in history, we have only two options; fight back or be crushed. "
GJ Socialists Mean Business
In the weeks leading up to Jared Taylor’s speaking event, CMU students, on their own initiative, joined the Western Culture Club (the club that invited Taylor) and attempted to hold an election to appoint new officers and change the direction of the club to be more positive and uplifting. In response, John Marshall sent two of his top ranking Administrative thugs, Jody Diers and Trey Downey, to illegally prevent the students from exercising their rights. Despite this the students soldiered on and refused to be intimidated or coerced by John Marshall and his fascist appeasing gang of academic frauds.
City of GJ, Candidate Breakdown
My hope was to provide voters with a clear understanding of the choices before them. However, with minimal policy distinctions between candidates, factors like background and general impressions will likely play a larger role in shaping voter decisions. This leaves to a very, “vibes” based election.
Free Speech for Some
Let me say that again for the civil rights attorneys in the back; John Marshall sent three top administrators to disenfranchise the voices of 20 students all in an effort to make sure a white supremacist spoke at CMU. His protestations and polished emails to the “Mavily” cannot cover this up.
A Spontaneous Trip to the “Fight the Oligarchy” Tour
Then Bernie took the stage. Visibly shaken and in awe, he opens by explaining that this was by far the biggest turn out he has ever had. Previous rallies he held in Denver while running for president averaged about 10,000 people. His team had counted at least 35,000 people who Entered into the Civic Center. However, there were easily another 20,000+ people outside surrounding the center for several blocks, listening in on loudspeakers. Bernie made it clear that, "The world is watching to see if Americans resist Trumpism."
