Today we are marching for peace and justice and the dream of America that Martin Luther King, Jr. gave us and which we San Miguel County citizens hope to keep alive for future generations.
CMU Fostering a Climate of Hate
“The administration either agrees with TPUSA, Charlie Kirk, and the resegregation of America, or they are asleep at the wheel,” said Ezekiel. “It's about time the CMU administration takes a side. Are they going to protect their students or are they going to roll over?”
Many Question Mindsprings ICE Deal
After weeks of rumors, media stories, and a blog post from The Rev detailing the contents of Torres’ meeting with Mindsprings staff. Mindsprings sent us statement: “The Potential contract between West Springs Hospital and Immigration and Customs Enforcement to offer inpatient services to unaccompanied minors in Building D is not happening.”
Injustice in Gaza: a Muslim Perspective
I have witnessed enough children without heads or brains due to explosions, or crushed or buried by rubble than I can bear to stomach, I see my own children's faces in these children. Now the war and destruction has expanded to Lebanon with a fragile ceasefire looming, following the same blueprint as Gaza breaking all the rules of warfare with little concern for innocent civilians.
Colorado Teachers Unions Under Threat
While CSEA is the first major union to fall in recent history, other districts are testing the waters. The Woodland Park School District recently settled with the teachers union after they had violated teachers First Amendment rights. It is illegal to require approval of bosses before being allowed to discuss working conditions with the press or on social media. Without the union, it would have been harder to pursue holding the district accountable for breaking labor law. While this was a win, the union, and teachers are still under threat.

Luigi Deserves Fair Trial
The entirety of the capitalist class is conspiring to execute Luigi Mangione. They are terrified of the outpouring of public support for a man who allegedly gunned down one of their own in broad daylight. They know that their rule will soon come to an end, and they know that the executioners of that rule will be the same people who have lived under their boot for decades and centuries. The capitalist class is trembling, and the people are for the first time in a long time aware of their trembling.
The Rev Looks Towards 2025
When we launched as a regular publication in April we had goals. We quoted Abbie Hoffman, “if your scene doesn’t have a paper, you probably don’t have a scene together.” We laid out our goals clearly. We seek “to be [the] backbone for radical movements for change on Colorado’s western slope. Send us your news and events. Help us build a ‘scene!’” That is happening– a scene– a couple of scenes– a whole damn vin diagram is forming.
What is Politics?
If We the People wish to be victorious in the class struggle that bifurcates all of modern society, then we must understand this simple truth; we cannot rely on the power of the capitalists. We must build our own power, and we must build it independently from the power of the capitalists. This necessitates the creation of an independent political organization which operates as a political combat organ of the working people. The building of such an organization is the basic task of socialists and communists nationwide.
The Poverty of Economics
Since the beginning of written history human society has been divided into classes. These class divisions will be different depending on the particular society you are looking at and its peculiar conditions. Some societies, like Ancient Rome, had class systems based on slavery and land ownership, with slaves and Plebeians at the bottom, and slave owners and land-owning Patricians at the top. In such societies, if you are a slave, or if you are a “free” Plebeian who owns no little to no land, you are a nobody, and as such have the rights of a nobody.
