You will see pieces that tell stories from all different perspectives, and we curated our list of works carefully to ensure that we could tell as many stories as possible while still remaining authentic! As I said before, we are still growing and attracting new performers, so we made sure to keep our set list appropriate for the performers we have. (We will not have a white actor tell the story of a BIPOC individual. We respect our differences and our right to share our experiences).
The Rev Looks Towards 2025
When we launched as a regular publication in April we had goals. We quoted Abbie Hoffman, “if your scene doesn’t have a paper, you probably don’t have a scene together.” We laid out our goals clearly. We seek “to be [the] backbone for radical movements for change on Colorado’s western slope. Send us your news and events. Help us build a ‘scene!’” That is happening– a scene– a couple of scenes– a whole damn vin diagram is forming.
Welcome to the House of Romanova
Don’t listen to all the other voices, of course take the advice. Take the love. Take the criticism. But at the end of the day, it’s your art. And there’s no definition to drag. And don’t let anyone tell you a definition to drag. And allow that grace to love yourself in every performance. Don’t be too hard on yourself.
